Nope, a previous answerer listed those who have a child in the military.

Another point that is hardly ever made.

Is the average age of US Representatives and Senators.

The average age for Represenatatives is about 52 years old.

The age for Senators is abount 59 years old.

Not to many 50 year olds, have children between 18 and 25 years old.

Most of their children would be in the 30's.

So, even if their children has served 4 years in the military, they would have done so 10 years ago, before the Congressmen was ever elected in the first place.

So, to say, only 5 or 6 Congressmen have children serving in Iraq, doesn't mean much, if you don't know how many have children of the age to join the military.

IE:

How can you critise a 59 year old Senator for not having a child in Iraq, when his youngest child is 40 years old already.

That is true according to the last debate I heard. There was an issue about the senators/ congressman wanting to send more troops to Iraq and they said if he had a son or daughter or if any of the congress & senators had family over there they would be in a hurry to bring them home. I'm disabled so I watch lots of news.

No, that's wrong.
Duncan Hunter and Jim Webb both do. Even at the time that Moore made this idiotic charge (that only one person in Congress, a Democrat, had children in the military) he was flat out wrong.

No - perfect example: Senator John McCain's son Jimmy McCain is a Marine and scheduled to go to Iraq in October. He is a senator now but also running for president in the upcoming Presidential election.

No that isnt true. If a senators kid wants to join of course he is gonna join. However, I believe it is true that the senators kids get better treatment. For example, Im an army Sgt. and if I knew that some guy had a senator for a father, I would treat him a little different because he could always call in his dad and screw me over.

And the point of your question??? I know..... senators and congressman are elitists, they should not send anyone to war without first sending their entire families... blah, blah, blah. It doesn't work that way. You don't understand it and you don't want to. It's pretty easy to trump up ridiculous arguments against the war, the president, the USA. It's much more difficult to think, have intelligent discourse, gain an understanding of history, and an understanding of America's enemies. Go ahead, take the easy way, but you are transparent and shallow.

Think for yourself and stop listening to liars. The miliary conections of those in Congress are easy to look up on the internet.
