Hey.
My puppy is only 8-9months old, and im wondering if puppies are allowed to eat Mandirins because a few minutes ago my puppy was sitting in the dining room and there was a Mandarin on the floor and he sniffed, chewed and rolled it, then when i passed he ran in circles around the table AND the mandirin so i wonder if they have any allergies, or things that can cause illnesses from the Mandirin. Thank you!

Dogs are like people. He could be allergic to it. However, unlikely. My dogs eat oranges. I'd check with a vet and ask your question to be certain. They usually don't charge for asking questions on the phone.

Your puppy sounds cute!

Here are some things that you CAN'T feed your pup. They're poisonous and could land you a nice visit to the vet if you're lucky. Avocados Chocolate Coffee Onions Garlic Grapes Raisins Macadamia Nuts Alcoholic Beverages Salt Fatty Foods Xylitol Tea Leaves Raw Yeast Dough Some cause more trouble than others, but all are foods around the kitchen that shouldn't end up in your dog's mouth. Hope I helped. Have fun with your dog.

No problem at all. Most dogs dislike acidic or sour foods, so they don't care much for citrus fruits. But some do and there's nothing wrong with that.

Both of my dogs eat oranges. My basset hound LOVES mandarins, they are one of her favorite treats. My beagle never liked them until she saw the other one eat them, so she tried them and now she likes them too!

I cannot eat citrus fruit myself because of a health concern, but once in a while I will buy a mandarin just for the dogs. When I do, my basset goes crazy and points at the kitchen counter with her nose as if to say, "when do we get to eat this, ma, oh when, can I have it now PLEEEEASE...."

There is no reason at all that your dog can not eat mandarin oranges. If he likes it, it's perfectly fine. I've never heard of any such thing as citric acid bothering dogs stomachs, and it's a rather ridiculous concept when you consider that dogs have *significantly* more acidic stomachs than we do.

mandarin orange right? he should be fine... chocolate is really bad for dogs sometimes... if he starts breathing poorly or gets sluggish or anything else noticably unusual happens then take him to the emergency vet, but it shouldn't hurt him... maybe just a tummy ache. hope he's okay!

Absolutely not. They're digestive systems cannot handle the acidity of most fruits. Avoid them.
