Ask your mom, and show her the respect that I'm sure that you have for her by also asking her why she doesn't want you to shave your legs. Tell her why you want to, and don't say because everyone else is. Try saying something like In our culture today it is what is socially accepted and by not doing it at your age it makes you feel that you are younger than you are. Tell her about how akward you feel with hair on your legs.
If she still says no and really has no valid reason (trust me it really won't grow back much thicker) then go out and buy yourself a razor and some shave gel and (carefully) shave. It's one of those things that your mom may not like, but if you are more comfortable doing it then go for it, and she'll forgive you eventually. After all, it'll grow back. (PS: If you do have to resort to this, wear pants around your mom, it'll be easier.)

I would just go behind her back and start shaving your legs, armpits, and whatever else you want. My mom wanted me to wait to shave my legs (she was a weird evangelical, anti sexual person) lol. She did allow me to shave my armpits at 11. But she wanted me to wait until I was 16 for the legs but I couldn't wait, I started shaving my legs and pubic area when I was 13. She soon found out and she wasn't actually mad, lol.

no just do it on Ur own!
At 11,12 I would steal my uncle's disposable razors, and sneak to do it. (26yrs now) As time went on, as strict as my parents were, no one made a fuss about it. That is when I realized it wasn't a big deal.

If u r gonna go it get Venus and use shaving cream. Right now they have all these new products where u don't even have to shave. I haven't tried them though b/c i have 0 problems with Venus razors!

it kept running through my mind about what to say and last night i thought stuff it and i sent my mum a txt while at work
i am going to get a razor today
but i am still really embarresed if she starts talking to me about it :S

You got 3 choices: 1- You can ask and hopefully she says yes. 2-You tell her that you want to shave but please show you how. 3-or do what my little girl at 10 years old did, " Gee mom, I just shaved my legs and do they feel smooth."

Sometimes parents just don't get it, especially if there not from the us originally or have old beliefs, but tell your mom why, tell her its considered gross and disrespectful to others to no shave shell buy it and then just do it, its really not that big of a deal.

my advise, go for waxing. it's more painful, but shaving has so many disadvantages: razor bumps/burns, cuts, hair growing back w/in days and it's thicker than at first. Also, its tedious, having to do it every night.

But if you do decide on it, then ask (if you even have to), especially if you live in an area where it gets hot during the summer and you want to have hairless legs.

u should be able to shave ur legs i c no problem..if ur mom has an issue with the idea of the razor (may b she is afraid u will cut urself) tell her they have other alternatives like depilatory creams etc. they are safer as long as they are used properly

Ask? U are 16 girl. I had this problem when I was 12!!! Don't have to ask. Just do it. U are a big girl and u should start taking care of your appearance. And just in case, do u think your mum would say no? I'm sure she wouldn't. If yes she is unreasonable.
