The tenats of Christianity consist of:
Love God with all your strength, heart, soul, and mind.
Love your neighbor as yourself.
Love one another as Jesus loved us.
Read the 13th chapter of 1st Corinthians for a good explanation of Christian love (agape in Greek).
Christianity is the "religion" of love and the Bible is the book of love. God is love.

Love is a simplistic explanation of Christianity. Jesus broke done the law and commandments into love for God and love of neighbor as self. Unfortunately, the very practice of such presents the difficulty.

Christianity is all about love. The Christian religion can be summed up with these verses:
"For God so LOVED the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." -John 3:16
"'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind'; and, 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'" -Luke 10:25-28
"If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing." -1 Corinthians 13:1-3

I fear that you are using the word love superficially. If you are to talk of Love than you must talk of the aggressive hunger of lust, the gratifying ecstasy of orgasm, the caring nuture of creation, the affirmation and death of uniting, the saddness of our departing, the pain of miscommunication...
I ask you: how is our very existence, let alone systems of beliefs, anything but Love? I say we are all lovers entwined in a bittersweet love affair with the whole of the universe and all that resides in it.

People will go on to say "love is part of religion" or "God is love." I wish the world could be a better place and realize that love is one of the greatest things we as human beings are capable of and focus on that instead of finding out what happens when we die or who our little strings are attatched to.

Originally it was, but it was twisted into monotheistic idol worship. Women represent the purest form of love and the real meaning of the prophets was worship of the Female, ie; love.

Well if you think about it.. every religion is based on love. Why do you think experts say that one day we'll all believe in just one "god"?
