The best way to discredit a police officer in court is to have clear and conclusive evidence that the police officer is misrepresenting the facts. Otherwise the court (judge) takes the position that the officer is telling the truth because a police officer is considered an officer of the court and has full knowledge of the penalty for perjury. Most judges take it really personally if you call a cop a liar without clear proof. Short of having clear and conclusive evidence about the only tactic that may work is to take the approach and say that even though you are sure the police officer works hard and tries his/her best to present god's honest truth in court in this case the officer is merely mistaken. I beat a traffic ticket once by saying that and getting the cop to admit that it was possible events could have happened the way I said they did.

I would not even try. Police officers work hard, and have a tough job as is, and you want to discredit him/her? For what? You're probably the one who screams and yells at the officer when you are getting a ticket.

How about not going to court at all. I know "you was framed man!" If you were really innocent you would not need to ask us how to discredit someone! You would have your answer. But since like numerous other knuckle heads on this site....you can't take responsibility for your own actions so you want to make him look bad and win on some BS!

Only if he or she has done something to be discredited for. Other than that, don't even try, cause the penalties are harsh.

Depending on what you're trying to discredit...try checking your local ordinances on whatever you were ticketed with.....that's a great start.
