who said we couldn't. Even the bible said we should be clean pysically even if we have to use a deodorant to avoid the smell of sweat.

It would help if you cited a certain paragraph of text in reference to this. There are no Commandments refering to this and actualy, people from the middle east past and present use oils and salves as a kind of deoderant and cleaning solution. ( one of the purposes of murr )
