I have installed AVG - is there a possibility of a conflick?

The answer is yes, as you can not have two antivirus program, they will cause serious conflict. You can have three or four antispyware programs without conflict.
Nortons is well known to damn near impossible to remove and if you think you have removed Nortons you will be surprised that you are left with 375 plus fragments glued to your files, folders, registry and hidden all over your system.
Download this free program Delete Doctor 2.1 and follow the instructions in the program. Removes write protected dll, files, and difficult programs that refuse to be deleted.

Ok, that will not work. Go to ccleaner.com or .net - i forgot, then download it, and download all updates. Then click tools, then uninstall, then click norton, click uninstall then when thats done click remove file from list, and the problem should not happen again.

just download Norton Removal Tool and run it...it will uninstall the program itself...should work like a charm
