Well a lot of american industries seem to not be doing very well. For example, Chrysler is up for grabs, Ford is closing plants and GM is not looking too good. Also with steel going over seas there seems to be less and less demands for labor unions. Unfortunately, many would argue that labor unions are part to blame for jobs going over seas. Labor unions are losing more and more industry to other countries and as a result their power has diminished which can explain why they aren't recruiting. I have several family members who are union members. They and I both feel that the labor unions have outlived their usefulness.

Hell no the Higher ups have plenty of money and have you seen the paychecks the UAW gets? They are the sole reason why American automobiles are being f-ed up the UAW members get paid over 5 times more then a worker at a non-union import factory.

Labor unions are irrelevant. Their membership is at an all time low in the US because the american worker no longer feels the need to pay someone else to speak for them, or to give away their individual power to negotiate on behalf of themself.

Thanks to unions, there is no longer much of a manufacturing industry in the US......and besides--look at airlines and auto industries.....unions have trashed those as well, they are financial in shambles and are mere shadows of the former glory days.

Unions aren't recruiting because they need to keep a fairly tight riegn on thier membership, or they won't be able to keep wages in union shops high.
