It's very unfortunate and a sad commentary, but here's the absolute truth: Unlike you implied in your question, the illegal immagrants from Mexico do a lot of work in this country - to the tune of Mexico's biggest single economic subsidy. That's correct - the money sent back to Mexico from workers in the United States is Mexico's single biggest cash cow! Mexico has no incentive to clean up all the corruption and build a better infrastructure to help keep the people in Mexico with better living conditions and more employment opportunities. Do you now have to "wonder if it's being done on purpose"?

Encouraging it. Remitances from workers illegally in the US are a mainstay of the Mexican economy. The Mexican government supplies 'how to' information, and shelters along the border to help it's citizens get into the US illegally.

(There's also speculation that Mexico has designs on the American south west - that ongoing illegal immigration is a peaceful invasion meant to create a Mexican majority in several US states that would then secede and seek union with Mexico. If that sounds fanciful - and it does sound fanciful and paranoid - keep in mind that it's exactly how Mexico lost Texas, in the first place.)

Mexico is encouraging them to come, why wouldn't they. Get them off their hands and over here making money to send back to Mexico. Its a win win situation for Mexico. They give them pamphlets and training on how to sneak across and where to go when they get here. There is no reason what so ever that they would want to keep them in their own country.

probably not a lot. i believe their second or third largest source of income comes from Mexicans working in USA and sending the majority of their earning home to Mexico. the drugs are probably a good source of the income as well. and if the country is so poor, instead of improving it we can support them here and there

The Mexican President has a secret deal worked out with Bush to allow open flow of illegal immigrants across the border. Bush is a globalist pig with no allegiance to America or its citizenry whatsoever.

Handing out pamphlets on how to cross the border, encouraging it. Mexico wants the poor people gone it doesn't want to deal with them.

They also support an open border so they can keep the drug lines open. 118 incidences of Mexico's army INVADING US as armed escorts for drug smugglers.
