12:24PM and 5 seconds. The easy way to remember military time. The day has 24 hours in a day. The clock in military time goes forward in the hours, not go back and repeat the same numbers. The time in military is 13:00 is 1:00PM and 20:00 is 8:00PM.

The person that made military time was a guy who missed his train because of the AM/ PM problem. Think about it, If I said meet me at 10:00 at the watering hole, is it 10:00 AM or 10:00 PM. He took away the problem. Now I say meet me at 22:00, I talking about 10:00PM in the 12 hour clock.

00:00 is midnight

I'm not answering your question but military time is easier then the AM/PM crap and a form of it is what is generally used in Europe. It's easy! Every day has 24 hours. Each hour goes up one starting at midnight. The rest is just minutes and seconds so that 2:00 PM, being the fourteenth hour of the day is 1400 hr. It only gets tricky when worldwide operations are discussed - then all times have to be corrected to the International Date Line.

24 min 5sec after 12 noon.
Military clock starts at midnight so 1200 hours is 12 noon.
Min. and sec. are the same as standard time.
