One of my best friends is a devout Atheist and evolutionist.
Many such nice people exist. Why should a person's philosophy affect our ordinary perception and manner of acting toward individuals?
He respects my single mindedness in regard to my philosophy - religion - and I his.
In fact, I have more close friends who are Atheist and Agnostic than the other way around.
A friend is one who acts friendly and shares some similar interest and hobbies, but fortunately we are not all identical clones. Isn't that what makes life interesting?

Every human being deserves respect.
Do you now feel better for suggesting Christians don't respect other than other Christians?

Atheists and unbelievers around me have often earned my deepest respect. Even some on this page have, once we get away from name-calling, etc. (which goes for people of any belief or non-belief).

Of course. Many (if not most) of my colleagues are non-Christians. They win my respect any time they demonstrate intellectual excellence combined with kindness and tolerance, which happens fairly often.

depends on what you are talking about. I have cousins that are atheists they are nice people, but I don't go around hounding them about my faith and yes I am a Christian. I respect them for being good parents good citizens, .......

You do not have to earn my respect. I give it freely to anyone who was created by God, and that includes every living person. I respect and love everyone, even the ones that do not believe in and love the same God I worship. There's a chance for everyone to come to know the saving grace of Jesus!!!!

not as atheists or agnostics, but as people. and I believe respect doesn't have to be earned. but there are some things people do which incline you to want to show them favor.

Why shouldn't they ever be able to just because they are atheists? Would Jesus have discriminated like that?
