It says that HE determined never again to destroy the earth with a flood. Or does this not apply?

YES, although I was always suspicious of Global Warming in the 1st place!

Someone who used to come here said that Noah's flood was likely only a regional flood, since the family couldn't have been thinking globally at that point in time. Makes sense? The meaning of the Hebrew word "earth" in this particular passage has a number of possible English translations, one being "district or region".

I have a very well put together study from someone on this topic. He asked me to share it with whomever was interested. E-mail me if you want to know more, and I will send you the study. I have lots of others too.

Indeed. that's a possible interpretation. due to our outstanding contribution to global warming, i'm quite sure that the next global flood (should it occur) would be induced by man, and not by God. it could also mean that God is going to destroy the earth again.........but not with a flood. that's another interpretation.

It doesn't apply. If the polar ice caps melted, it wouldn't flood the entire earth either so it wouldn't violate this passage of scripture. Mostly, we Christians don't really trust environmentalists; especially those who think the world is overpopulated.

Quit listening or believing to all this Global warming Propaganda. I have something you need to do. If the polar ice caps are going to melt away dont you think the snow caps on mountains such as Mt Hood or Mt Rainier will melt first? Watch those mountains... if the snow caps melt then we are in trouble

True, GOd will destroy the "old earth" with fire the next time around in order to bring about a New Heaven and a New Earth.

That doesn't really apply, but if you read in Daniel and some of the other prophets, I can't remember where exactly, but they kinda talk about what happens during the clean up proccess of firing a nuclear weapon, and in pretty good detail too.

It definitely applies. Good observation. Of course anyone who firmly believes in the Bible knows that God is in control.

I believe you are right it doesn't really apply in the context of your question. Ciao
