i found a program to unzip a compressed and play an .avi file, but when it plays on wmp, i always get a visualization. could anyone tell me how to play the movie properly

that is verry simple it dose that because u dont have avi codec installed on your computer try using either of thes programs
they come with the aic codecs

It's because windows media player doesnt normally accept .avi files... u can solve the problem by installing a fiel bundle pack such as divx or nimo and then it will allow u to view .avi files on windows media player....divx also has its own player which supports a number of different video file types but doesnt support audio files....hope this helps

You need a media player which plays .avi. Try using the free VLC media player (http://www.filehippo.com/download_vlc/)
