I agree with you. As long as you and the person you are with understand that sex is a huge step and has more meaning behind it than something physical, it's okay to move forward.
But it's never okay to do it to please someone or make someone like you. It will only backfire and you'll end up resentful and wishing you never did it.
It's also completely okay to not have sex before marriage. Everyone has their beliefs. If someone feels that strong about it, no outside influences should change you.
Be sure when you are ready for your first time that you are also careful. You can get pregnant your first time, no matter when you hear. Also, make sure you know the other person inside and out and that you trust that person. There is nothing worse than giving yourself to someone who doesn't care about you.
Good luck!

Actually, I personally believe that you should wait until after the marriage ceremony. It was God who created sex, after all, and he has guidelines for sex. He did this for the good of the relationship. Not to deprive you of anything wonderful. And I don't believe in long engagements either. Once you become engaged, go ahead and set the wedding date to be soon; not a long drawn out thing.

i would never do that. first of all - i dont want to have sex only with one person for a whole lifetime especially if i havent had a test drive - what if he has problems with performance or a really small penis?
second of all - sex is great and it makes my life so much better and so much more fun.
i want to have as much experience as i can before i settle down.

What's relevant here is how you feel (and how your partner feels, of course). Sounds like you don't see anything wrong with it, so there isn't - of course, this is just an assumption. If you think you do see something wrong with it, then there is - for you, at least.

it's a natural thing. of course you want to save it for the right person but you shouldn't necessarily let marriage be the determinant of when you have it. if you're with someone who you love and you feel like its right, go for it.
