You will never find an atheist thinking,or worse still actually saying ,that someone else is going to hell to be tortured forever. It just would never occur to an atheist to engage in such a stupid way of thinking!!

I personally don't know of any Christians who go around spouting you're going to Hell for no reason at all. But if they're asked point blank what happens when a person doesn't take God's gift, you'll get a answer that comes right from the scriptures. So, if you're not interested in knowing, don't ask. Most Christians will be more interested in telling people why their lives have changed so much. Unfortunately atheists are quick to verbally crucify them. But that comes with the territory.

It takes intelligence to be an atheist and when one discovers more and more about life and the universe in general they realize that people should be treated with dignity and that there is indeed something better. Most christians are christians becaouse they have to be or becaouse it is all they have known. It is a club just like any other category of human being and it is one where they can feel special as opposed to other people.

I don't know who is going to hell, because there is still time to repent and believe the gospel - however I can say if you continue in a certain course of sin or fatal doctrinal error you will be in hell. This is not to be unkind or an attack of some sort - but an desire to tell someone the truth.

One thing I can say is that Jesus talked about hell often in the Bible. He probably did so more then most preachers today.

Mt 7:13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:

Sin. Christians need to be honest with the atheists about sin and its consequences. Humans innately know that all is not as it should be. We only need to read the headlines to know that our world is deeply broken. We must resist the urge to sugarcoat poison or anesthetize wounds that are still bleeding. Though it may not be a comfortable subject, the truth about sin is vitally relevant.

May I submit that those who understand the true nature of sin understand that what renders someone a sinner is not any scale of human wickedness; rather, it is the very nature and character of God. To say it differently, it is how I measure up next to God’s standard, not my culture’s that makes me miss the mark.

The torture of a bad conscience is the hell of a living soul. ~John Calvin

Before we deal with your question, I have a question for you. Do you have absolute knowledge? Do you know everything there is to know about everything. Because the atheist says there is no God correct? That is an absolute statement. You must have absolute knowledge to make an absolute statement, which you don't have. In the knowledge you don't have, would you be willing to admit the existence of God might be there? Then you're not an atheist, your agnostic. There is a difference. Now concerning your question Christians are not condemning you to Hell, you're already condemnned. Your actions condem you, your sin condemns you. Christians are merly pointing out the fact you are condemned.

Echoing a previous answer...it's the last rock in a Christians bag. BTW, for those who have not taken the time to study what the bible actually teaches, the wages of sin is death, not eternal life.

First of all, how do you know that atheists obey Christ more than Christians? Second do you know every atheist and every christian in the world and took a poll? You can't lump all Christians or atheists together in their own group based on the knowledge you may have of just a small portion of them.

That is odd isn't it... but their are some Christians who do not tell me I am going to hell in fact they are quite kind to me... but I have been told quite a bit I am going to hell... and that isn't very Christ-like...

I think that maybe we just don't care as much... because if people aren't atheist is doesn't matter... they'll just be dead... while Christians believe that we really are going to hell and think that they are "saving" our souls...

Funny world isn't it?

If nobody dies on the freeways without a posted speed limit, are they following the law or are they simply able to go down the road without government intervention?

If atheists live good lives without religion, are they obeying Christ or do they simply not have to be told how to be good?

These are the words of Jesus himself

41The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;

42And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

43Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.
