It depends on your schedule and when you're able to do it.
I say the best time is first thing in the morning. Wake up, hit the gym, do your workout and then have breakfast. I find it gets my metabolism revved for the rest of the day.

While is optimal to get your day going with a charged metabolism, it also depends on when you are at your best. I could NEVER do my exercise in the morning because I am too sleepy and groggy and need a few hours to wake. I am at my best in the evening so if I am doing pool jogging, I am find around 1 or 2 in the afternoon however I do my Yoga in the evening before going to bed and I get both my cardio and deep relaxation prior to bed.
I think the real thing is to find the TIME of day that works best for you then tailor an exercise program around that.
The most important thing is that you do it.

You should do cardio in the morning because it gets the heart rate up and boosts the metabolism. If you get the metabolism boosted in the morning you will burn more calories throughout the day without doing anything more than usual. Also it is best to workout before you eat because activity releases a natural horomone called endorphins in the brain. Endorphins actually make you feel happy AND decrease appetite, so you'll eat less and feel full on less food. Good Luck.

I prefer the morning. I like to get it done, and then if I don't have time later in the day, I don't have to worry about it...if I do have time, I'll typically go ahead and do a 2nd workout.
Any exercise is better than none. Do what works best with your schedule. I've got more energy in the morning and don't mind getting up a little earlier to take care of my workout. You may prefer evenings and use your workout to unwind after your day.
I would try not to workout TOO close to bedtime, just because it may cause you to stay awake for a bit...finish your workout at least an hour or so before bedtime, so you have time to shower and unwind a bit, before climbing between the sheets and trying to sleep.

Exercise times are a personal decision. Some people have more energy in the morning, say before work, to exercise and then start the day. While others like to exercise after work before going home. Very few exercise before bedtime because most people don't sleep well after a late exercise routine.
Try one for a month and if you like it stay with it. I did and found I am a morning exerciser.

Morning before breakfast because there is no sugar in your system - replenish with good proteins or complex carbs after your workout with scrambled eggs or a small bowl of oatmeal for example.
With that combo, you're not giving any simple carbs to the mix and working off almost all fat.

In the morning, right after you wake up, and BEFORE you eat anything.
Your body's glucose level will be extremely low, and your body will tap into your body's fat storage for energy. If you exercise after eating, your body will use the newfound carbohydrates for energy.
It is proven (and worked for me) that you will lose 3-4x as much FAT if you work out at this time.

Defintely in the morning. It will boost up your metabolism for the day. If you exercise too late, it has a tendency to keep you from falling asleep, also.

guees what it really doesn't matter! whatever you want. in the morning your hormone levels are at thier highest so you'll be able to train a little harder but working out in the evening helps to boast your metabolism and burn anything extra you happened to eat during the day. so wich ever you like best!
