The word holy in the Hebrew is kodesh. Kodesh signifies a consecrated thing, a sacred place or dedicated to a sanctified purpose. Obviously, God is holy and pure and perfect. Anything God sanctifies or dedicates would, therefore, be holy. Therefore the scriptures would be called "Holy"

Paul said in Romans 1:2 that the Bible or scriptures are holy. And, in writing to Timothy in II Timothy 3:15, he called the Bible holy.

Judaism calls the OT "Holy Scripture".

Why not just ask the question without the sarcasm? It's a lot politer that way.

Somebody will certainly give credit to 'god' ot the 'holy spirit' for this.... but that's not the truth is it.

As a creation of man, the idea of god and the eventual authorship of the bible was in the hands of men. 'Who' decided to call the bible holy is unimportant just as what it contains is unimportant, (I yield due credit to the book as an important novel of it's time.)

It contains God's word and since God himself is holy, his word, too, is holy.
