im about to be twelve[tomorrow!] and he has just turned 14[may 3rd]
he asked me out and idkk.
he is going to 8th and im going to seventh..he told me he got held back..but other girls say he tried to get them to do things..
i really like him but its weird..

umm that sounds a lot like me last year.
i was 12 and this guy 2 grades a head of me would always be calling me and stuff.
there were also tonsss of rumors sayin he did stuff with like every girl. they ended up all being true and stuff
so if u know him and trust him..go for it
but if not just try to get to know him
since everyone on here doesnt actually know him we cant give the best advice

Could the other girls just be jealous? At your age (actually even at a much older age) far too many people like to gossip and make up stories about others. Some times they are true, sometimes they are just made up and wind up hurting a lot of other people for no reason.
Now...seriously, you are only 12. You will have plenty of time to worry about dating and heart break and so on. Don't put yourself into a position which could hurt you now.
Okay, sorry but I have to say this. At 12 years old, or even 14 years old...you have absolutely no understanding of the concept of love. What you know is what you see or hear in movies and on TV. Not even your Mom and Dad are showing you what love really is. Anyone who tells you different, also has no idea of what true love is. You will learn in a few years for yourself, but right now...Disney is not real life...neither is Britanny, Lindsay or Paris...that is fantasy.

To me, age means nothing. It is just a man-made illusion like time.
Don't worry about it because he is two years older than you.
Consider whether or not it would work based on how you two get along, and how mature you both are.
Treat him the age he acts, and if that corresponds with your own actions and behaviours, and it works, then try it out. But if you sense that you are too different, in a bad way, then avoid it.

I think you should do what you think you should. If he got held back he is, should be a trouble maker. Or just had bad grades. But you are too you to be going out with a 14 year old. Go with 13 or your age.

well this is tricky. ive had experience with a 16 year old and im 13. he was very controlling and protective. but yet in some cases these things work out fine. but i got trapped in the relationship for 6 months...the whole time i wanted to get out. so if he makes you uncomfortable tell him you dont want to be with him anymore. or have a friend tell him. or just bring your friend along to help you. just please,if you do go out with him and you want to break up with him do it. you shouldnt have to feel trapped like i did. the sooner you break up with him the better. dont wait for six months. good luck :] i hope he's a great guy and not a jerk like mine was

im 12 and ive had many 14 yr old bfs. age in my opinion isnt the biggest factor. if he pressures u 2 do stuff tht makes u uncomfortable get out of the relationship but maybe u should give him a chance and c how it goes! i did and some of the guys werre really nice ppl and some of them were jerks. u just sometimes have 2 take a chance

Don't you dare go out with him! You're 12! He's 14! You know what? You 'pre-teens' think you guys are old enough to do this or that, but well, just THINK TWICE ACT ONCE! I'm 13, there's plenty of fish in the sea! You'll find one like him thats about your age next time. He is too old for you! Don't go out with him. The way I think of it He might be a bad influence on you. But its your choice. Just remember:

youre 12... i would say thats too young to have a serious bf.
Plus at those ages they are too far apart.
at age 1 and 3 thats a big difference at ages 44 and 46 thats not so bad... 12 and 14 though... you're just both at different stages of life.

You're too young to be dating a 14 year old. Listen to what the others are saying about him and leave hime alone.
