I think, if you don't believe in God then that's your choice for God gave us free will and thinking.
If you're an atheist or not doesn't matter.
You just don't have a religion or a faith or a maker.
You were created by happenstance and from the big bang that somehow came from chaos. But if nothing existed, where did the chaos come from. I think it was GOD.
But like I said, it's up to you. But are you an atheist?
I don't like that word so no. You just don't believe in God.
And how can you dislike something that does not exist?
You actually do believe in God.(correcting myself) For every creation was made to know him. You just reject him.

The Bible is full of it. Don't take it literally. Believe what you truly believe, and don't let any stupid book tell you otherwise. If you don't want to worship a fascist God, then don't I sure as Hell don't. I think God is kind, loving, merciful, and forgiving. An atheist = someone who believes that you live, you die, the end. There is no God, or other higher power. If you believe that, then you are an atheist.

OK here's the thing, Rosey. You can't go giving human qualities to a deity that you claim doesn't exist, any more than you can give those same qualities to what most claim to be an all-knowing, all-powerful, all-encompassing, timeless entity of infinite power.

If you decide to abandon God just because you don't LIKE him, that's not the same as believing he doesn't EXIST, got me?
Guess what? If you're still spending your time lamenting all the horrible things that God has done, then you're still being controlled by Christianity whether you like it or not.

You can't have it both ways. Either he exists or he doesn't. You can't attach descriptions to an entity that does not exist. Therefore, if God is a nervous wreck and a fascist, then he does exist (at least in your mind).

No because no matter how you disparage no matter what you might say and think about Him, you do believe in the existance of God therefore you are not an atheist who does not believe in the existance of God or any Higher controling power.

Atheism is something that you feel. Most "atheists" were born into a religion and there is still some longing for a higher power, making them agnostic. So are you an atheist? Only you can answer that question.
