No, do not use table salt, it is iodized and also is not the same as sea salt. Mix 1/4tsp of sea salt to 1 cup of warm water, use a cotton ball or q-tip to clean the piercing. You can also use it as a soak if your piercing becomes irritated/sore, or infected. Be sure to wash your hands before cleaning your piercing, and avoid playing with it until it is fully healed.

I wouldn't...
I use H2Ocean.
It's pretty much just purified sea salt mixture in an aerosol can, which I like because it makes it easier. Plus it keeps it sterile better when it's in aerosol form.
It can be bought at most piercing stores, and at most Hot Topics. Usually it's only about $10.00 for a can.
A can lasts me around 6 months, but I only clean my guages once a week...ish.
I've had them for a while and I'm no longer stretching so I'm not very religious with my cleaning anymore.
H2Ocean is good for every piercing, even oral ones.

No way. Sea salt has more pure minerals and is much more natural. Table salt has added ingredients.
If you can't get sea salt, I recommend cleaning your piercings with rubbing alcohol daily. But if you have to use sea salt, try and find it.

Use the sea salt. It isn't that much more expensive...I've never tried table salt...I always buy the sea salt like my piercer says!
Dial antibacterial soap works well too.

You might think it's crazy but the key to healing a piercing is not to clean it at all.
hear me out - My piercer goes by a different healing method, called dry healing. Basically, you just let the piercing heal, keep it completely dry and don't touch it at all. (that includes rotating the ring or stud)
most piercing places will tell you to clean it with alcohol or sea salt, because that is what they believed to be the best way, but when you do that it reopens the wound, and damages new tissue trying to form around the piercing.
If you keep reopening the wound, it will take way longer to heal, and will be more likely to get infected.
when it starts to form crusties around it leave them alone, because taking them off also damages the new tissue and will keep it from healing.
our bodies were designed to heal things.
Just let your body do its job and it will be fine.

no because regular table salt could have a chemical in it that could hurt the piercing and it doesnt clean as well

I wouldn't screw with it. It might get all pus like and green. You can get sea salt at the health food store.

Sea salt, antibacterial soap cleanings also. PLEASE dont use alcohol, it drys out the piercing, and inhibits natural healing. See your piercer if you suspect a problem with your piercing

Yep, that's fine, mix it with cooled boiled water though, and it's best to use cotton buds, making sure you only use each end once to wipe the area to reduce contamination. Happy healing!
