I have one.
-Christmas and Easter is a pagen holiday yet Christians celebrate it. I have done this all my life because my parents have done it. Now I fear that it is wrong! :(
What are some contradictions people make when they talk about the bible?
If you have any that you feel, comment.
Thanks!

I am not talking about contradictions in the bible. God's word is TRUTH and that is it.
I am talking for example:
Someone saying the bible says "Dont participate in pagen activities." Yet celebrating Christmas and Easter just like a pagen did in the past.

Now those are good comments.
It's all about sharing people. Not to offend anybody.
I think that's the problem in today's world. Nobody's willing to step outside the box and express how they feel.
And when someone does express how they feel, people want to shut them down.
Thanks to open minded people.

I think it depends on the level of ignorance. For instance, I know the history of Christmas and how Christianity sort of "took over" a Roman holiday, though there is some dispute that it may have represented a Jewish holiday initially. But it's not the origin of the day that's important, but the meaning you pour into the celebration. If you're using the day to celebrate the birth of Christ, or as a way to visit with and bring together family, then that's not hypocritical at all. It's the meaning you pour into the celebration, not it's several thousand year old origin.

I love how many Christians (not all) look down on people who are different than they are. My biggest gripe is homosexuality. Many Christians are against it because it is stated in the Bible that it is a sin. ITS THERE. I'M NOT CHALLENGING IT, but the bible does NOT STATE that people should HATE HOMOSEXUALS.
Jesus tells us that we should love one another as we love ourselves...and that ALL SIN IS EQUAL and the WAGE OF SIN is death. And since that's the case, everybody, especially those who consider themselves to be Christian, should reevaluate themselves, ask God for forgiveness for being so hateful, and realize that if it were not for God's love and mercy: they would be nothing and their lives would be nothing.

Yes, people or "christians" do this all the time.
From one end of the Bible to the other people will ignore what the Bible tells us to do. Often they say it don't matter or it wont hurt.
People who will truly study and want to please God will not do these things. From baptism, sabbath day, commandments, idols, and much more. People "christians" often reject what the Bible tells them because they are hard hearted toward God. They want to do what they want to do and hold to the traditions they have been taught.

Exceedingly open-minded and educated of you. I do not think you should feel bad about it now that you are aware. Look at it this way - the celebrations were so wondrous, christians had to adopt them. They just changed the names hoping it wouldn't be obvious, you know, like plagiarism.
There are many contradictions that I have noticed, one of my fav is how the bible says to pray in private but they congregate.
Also the one about false idols and graven images, which just so happens to be a commandment.
Thanks for the nice question.

Sunday Christians bother me a little. These are the people who go to church on Sunday and praise and worship the Lord, then spend the rest of the week knowingly sinning and using the excuse that God will forgive their sins, no matter what.
They talk the talk, but they don't walk the walk.

Many believe that they will go straight to heaven, others straight to hell upon death (that is they say their souls will).
Yet they believe that there is to be a general resurrection of all mankind.
Does it make sense for God to judge a person worthy of some destiny, and then remove them from that destiny, re-judge them and then return them to the original destiny?

When people judge others for things, such as homosexuality.
In the Bible, Jesus fought off those people who judged others so harshly--the false prophets. Since we are not God, who are we to judge others and their faiths?
Christians are supposed to be CHRIST-LIKE, not what they think is right according to the Bible.
