It keeps throwing up the sesame seeds in its food, it gets all over his beak and everything. Ive tried switching food, but it will still throw up. Its been doing it for a while now. Does anybody know what could be wrong with it ?

My bird has been doing it for a while, and he actually might of started when we got another cockatiel, its the same gender as him though but a lot younger. That bird has never started to throw up so i don't think its air borne, but i will definitely take it to the vet to get checked out, thanks

I had the same problem with one of my budgies, he done it now and again then he was really bad with it and I had to keep him warm with a lamp because he went into shock then the next day he made a full recovery, now he hasn't done it in over a year, try using the bird seed Trill, that's what I use and it seems to be the best.

This solution really works. I had a volatile cockatiel once who behaved in a similar fashion. Put up a quarter of a standard valium (finely crushed and stirred) in the bird's water every day (any more and the bird gets sick) and it calms the bird down. Check with your vet if symptoms persist.

Not normal. It could have a blockage or digestive tract problem. Other illnesses can also be the cause. You really need to take her to an experienced avian vet asap.

You obviously have a very sick bird. Sounds like PDD to me. I'd get it to a vet as soon as possible. PDD is an air borne disease that could spread to other birds if you have any.

Good Luck!

is this little one on eggs? at sexual maturity? in love with you? mating with another cockateil? in company of another gender cockateil?
If none of these are a yes answer, get the poor thing down to an avian vet

if it's got young birds or other birds it could just be trying to feed them.
