actually you are not alone on this. i find it hard to believe and people that are at the forefront on this will not give those that disagree a chance to explain their reasoning. from all the info that i have read studied about this it seems that about half of the scientists that are learned in this field do not believe there is or ever will be a threat from global warming. i also think that carbon neutral and carbon shares is a bunch of hooey i can not believe that there are idiots out there that will buy shares in this scandal about carbon dioxide. stick to your guns son and sooner or later we will get back to the scam that an ice age is coming like these so called in the no hot shots were predicting back in the 1970's.

Many people have trouble distilling truth from the free-flowing arguments about global warming. There seems to be no question that global warming is taking place. The real debate is about its causes.
At least one scientist suggests that, because planet-wide warming has also been detected on Mars, the sun is very likely the culprit. This makes a good case for the "natural causes" crowd. (see Nat'l. Geog. story)
Others point out that Earth is still recovering warmth from its last cyclical plunge in temperature (the "Little Ice Age") and we still have quite a ways to go before we reach global average temperatures that existed about 800 years ago - way before any significant artificial carbon emissions. (see NASA's "History of Climate Change")
On the other hand, California laws on motor vehicle pollution controls have vastly improved air quality in that state over the past several decades - despite a rapidly growing popluation - suggesting that collective human behavior can have an effect in some ways. (see CARB air quality history listing).
So - this big blue marble is definitely going through some changes, but we can't expect to completely control all the forces at work, even if we can make a measureable difference. Yes, I recycle and I conserve, but I'll start using one square of bath tissue the same day Al Gore and Sheryl Crow do the same thing.
The literal answer to your question is: "You are certainly not alone having trouble taking seriously some of the arguments about global warming, because I'm defintiely with you!"

It has nothing to do with popularity of viewpoint...reality is reality, and it doesn't matter if hte majority of the population accepts it or not.
Global warming isn't "way out of control" yet, it's bad, but not completely far gone. That being said, the effects of it are increasing every day, and are actually accelerating...so in other words, just wait a decade or two, and it will be pretty wild. This is precisely why scientists are sounding the alarm now, so that we can do something about it before it really becomes a serious problem.

I dont agree thats its out of control, and I am not an tree hugger by stretch of the imagination. BUT common sense would tell you that as the developing nations increase their gas outputs, and at the same time the industrialized nations increase theirs. We are pumping more and more into the atmosphere, Im sure most people would agree that its not a great idea. At one time people thought the oceans were so vast we could dump into it forever. I say if we can do things to improve it lets do it. Are you willing to take the chance of being wrong? If the scientific community is right there will be drastic effcts during your childrens lifetime.

No you are not the only one. Top qualified scientists are not in agreement on this issue - there are varying opininions on the degree of severity of the problem and the extent to which man is the cause.
It is undenyable that the earth has been warming since the last ice age - was warming well before man came on the scene.
It is also undeniable that there are some benefits to global warming.
It is also undenyable that there are detremental effects of drasticly reducing our carbon emmissions - would definitely lower our quality of life.

It's always hard to take shrillness, no matter which side of an argument you are on.
But here is the thing: The vast majority of the scientific community accepts that the Climate is warming and that man-made green house emissions are contributing to the warming.
And here's the other thing: Just about everything we can do to curb those emissions is beneficial to you in many other ways: More efficiency, lower energy costs, cleaner air, more energy independence, and more forests to name a few. Not everyone wins in this model (especially the fossil fuel industries) but the majority of us do.

we have a warming trend that some are blowing out of proportion. ive already heard a number about 8 degree rise in 10 yrs. considering it hasnt even risen a 10th of a degree in over a 100 yrs, the statement is a bit nuts. but some swollow this stuff whole and they prey on the weak

No you are not
there are many scientists that argue that this is only a cycle the earth is going threw.
the temp has only risen 7 degrees on average since 1900.
But i do think we should stop all the polluting

Nope. Like a lot of issues, people line up on both sides and, like a lot issues, they tend to say things about the other side that is ad hominem in nature.

Have you seen "An Inconvenient Truth"?
If not, I suggest you do. Many who don't believe we are heading for trouble refuse to see it. Kind of like an ostrich sticking his head in the sand so he won't see the danger.
I don't believe we have crossed an irreversible threshold, but we are approaching it and should act as soon as we can.
