I read one dude's story about how he used one defragmenter and then used another one and it messed up his OS. Due to the positive results on my other question, I have chosen Diskeeper over Windows Defragger. But I had already started windows defragger, and planned on using the best one I could find to follow it up. But after reading about that guy, I would like to know if running Diskeeper after windows defragger will mess up my OS?

I have to defrag about every week. I burn CDs and remove programs regularly. And I had already started the windows defragger as I went looking. =D

Ayhank,
Why would I believe you if you do not even listen the reasons? And if you wish to post why it is better, please view my other thread at :

And by the way, proper english is a good trait too..

Hi, it shouldn't affect your os at all. All defraggers will essentially just bring things together, that should be together.

I can only envisage a problem if you attempted to run both defrags simultaneously.

cheers

Diskeeper is a solid product and has worked with windows for a long, long time. However with vista all bets are off.

As for running them "in parallel" just choose one defragmentation product. It's just dumb to run both of them regularly, you will not achieve some sort of "ultra awesome" defragmentation by using them both. It's like wiping your butt in two different bathrooms.

I wouldn't even consider the MS defrag utility when I have Diskeeper.

I believe v12 is current and includes Vista in its repetoire.

Best damn utility ever!!!
