Absolutly not!!!!! Sodas of any kind are not good for you. PERIOD..... yes water is better for you and your body requires it to function properly. If water is not your thing puting a little lemon in it works great. Sport drinks such as Poweraid or Gatoraid are also good as they help your body replinish electrolites and fluids that you loose during the day. (expecialy during the summer) Breakfast foods....stay away from sweetened cereals. Oatmeal is good for you and a Banana or a piece of fruit is always a plus. Eggs or any source of protien is good just stay away from alot of sugar. Lunch, don't over do it, keep it simple and stay away from fast food. Fried foods are bad....microwave is bad (it cooks the vitamins out of the food)....always remember your food groups....(and no, junk food is not a group)...but whatever you do don't worry about your weight! If you eat healthy and stay active(not activly sitting on the couch playing video games), stay away from junk food (including sodas) and the weight should not be a problem. excess weight comes from poor diet and no excersize...plain and simple...

Water is better for you, however yes. I stopped drinking Pepsi a couple of years ago and began drinking Diet Pepsi. I lost approximately 20 lbs in 2 months time. However, like I said, water really is the way to go. You will get much faster results due to the simple fact that there is no sodium in water, so you will not retain water weight nearly as much. If I had gone to drinking water only, I probably would have lost 30 lbs instead of 20. Unfortunately, water just is not my thing...yet. Good luck. :)

*there is no sugar or carbs in diet drinks...., there is however aspartamine, which won't cause weight gain*

its the first time i hear something like that - its most deffinatley not true - soda makes you retain water weight so you actually gain.
find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

Actually, a recent survey showed that those who drank diet drinks also happened to be above average in weight for their age and height. The diet drink was not the cause of their being overweight--it just seemed to coincide as a life-style.
Drinking cold water with lemon in it would be more beneficial, and you can get used to it in time. Even better would be green tea. Lemon might make that tastier for you, too. A good breakfast could be a boiled egg, slice of whole wheat toast, yogurt and fruit; oatmeal with raisins and a glass of juice; graham cereal with low-fat milk along with orange wedges. For lunch, you can have water-packed tuna mixed with diced apples (skin on) and some kind of low-cal cracker. Fresh carrot sticks, celery sticks and other veggies, such as broccoli, cauliflower, zucchini, and tomatoes, are good snacks. Really! At your age, you shouldn't go on a stringent diet, just cut back on sweets and high-fat foods. And be sure to exercise moderately by bicycling, skating, swimming, and playing tennis, getting involved in gymnastics or dance. Not all in one day, of course!

NO! Diet coke is all sugar and carbohydrates. And the carbs are the bad kind! Stay away from sodas, instead drink water, juice or milk.

there is an theory that ingesting extreme quantities of sugar substitute makes the physique crave genuine sugar. this might then bring about weight earnings. i do no longer understand if this has been shown. eating recurring coke might make it easier to drop pounds in case you have been substituting this for ordinary coke which you will possibly have consumed otherwise.
