I don't use toothpaste, what I use is Preparation H. Regular kind, Original. When you think about it, "reduces swelling", it makes perfect sense. I put a glob of it on the zit and go to bed, great for face if you don't sleep on sides or stomach! Sometimes it needs to be done twice and other times it works the first time. Forces the gunk out, reduces the swelling and no redness.

i think my mom told me that, but she just assumed it because toothpaste apparently has a drying effect on the skin. i wouldn't do it, because it might aggravate your acne. instead, look into your diet and lifestyle, and see if you can find anything there. I've been playing around with diet and excersize as a cure for acne, and, believe it or not, i have virtually no acne anymore, and when i do, it seems to go hand in hand with my deviations from what I've learned about eating habits and overall health. Preservatives, Processing, and Pesticides, or general allergies to anything natural or refined may be the cause, based on my experience. Eat plenty of greens, (i think organic and local are the way to go...the less processing, the more you can trust it) drink the appropriate amount of water, and try to avoid or learn about your reaction to Fast foods and highly refined and processed foods. look into it, it may help.

It works with plain old fashion nothing fancy toothpaste, no whiteners or anything like that, when I used to do it I used Crest. Just put some on before you go to bed and wash it off in the morning.

dont use toothpaste on your zits. it does NOTHING except make your skin red, very dry, and eventually your zits will start to peel. that doesnt look good. try neosporin or just buying a cream from the store. it'll be better in the long run.

Right now my skin is perfectly clear, for the first time in 3 years. It's been about 9 weeks and all my acne is gone. It is such a great feeling to wake up with clear skin.

OMG it works so well I use it all the time. You just dab it on hte zit and leave it on for 10-15 min. GOOD LUCK!

This is an old wives' tale. It doesn't work.

It's been proven in several magazines articles that the toothpaste is ineffective. You're better off using Proactiv or acne spot treatment products like Neutrogena.

I've done it and it has worked a little but I have only kept it on my face for 10 min b/ of the burning. good luck.
