When ever a fundamentalist Christian talks religion, they say, with no hesitation, and no proof that god wrote it all, and therefore it is true.
Why don't some of these people ever ask where that holy book really came from, and how it came about, and where those stories really came from?

Some of the stories in scripture may very well be allegory. The book of Job, for example. There is a lot of factual support for many of the stories in the Bible; for example, that of the biblical flood, including the fact that most cultures have a flood story. In fact, there is historical evidence of a lot of the things that matter most to our faith. Problems arise when one starts trying to pick apart the Bible and separate verifiable facts from potential allegory. Where do you draw the line? If one thing is untrue, it stands the potential of casting doubt on other, more important things.

The reality is that there is nothing to which fundamentalist Christians cling as an important article of faith, which has been conclusively disproven. And I don't think this is coincidence.

I have read a good number of reference materials, historical documents, commentaries, and such, by the way, which have explained the origins of many of the books of the Bible. These references (religious and secular) have helped solidify for me the reliability of the Bible.

It is not just Fundamentalists. However, your question has some merit. WHY don't YOU study up on the Bible and find out how it came about?

Take a couple of course in Bibliology and Hermeneutics and get back to me... we can talk.

If you study the Bible, you can prove much of it, historically, geologically, scientifically and theologically. That is fact! From those facts, we trace the writers history as you are wrong when you said God wrote it! God, inspired others too and they accepted.

The "stories" can be traced ( most of them) and science proves much of the stories as well.

If the two, Biblical thought and scientific thought, are ever brought together, as a science...you will wonder why you ever asked such a question!!

They came from exactly where the Bible says they came from.

The TORAH was written by the hand of GOD, the other books of the Bible were inspired by GOD and they were written by the hands of HIS servents. The words contained within are a factual account of history and even the future.

"For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts."—Hebrews 8:10

It is something we just know without 'knowing' at least in the sense that you seem to be trying to relate. I tell you, according to Hebrews 8:10 that a person need not ever see or know of the actual book of the Holy Bible, but still know God, because He has written himself into the hearts of man. It is man who chooses to ignore Him or accept Him and search Him to know Him more.

For me, I knew there was more to life than what lay before me and when I happened upon God's Word it was merely confirmation of what the Holy Spirit had already spoken into my very essence. The Bible, it is my love letter that answers all the desires my soul ever longed for.

This is the result of separation of religion and science by churches. They suppress knowledge making its followers unable to think clearly. Churches even outlaw taking a bath! (check the history). Any new ideas were branded blasphemy. (like the earth wasn't the center of the universe)

Supposedly there is a secret library in Vatican. Why churches want to suppress knowledge is beyond me.

Many Islamic scholars contribution were erased by churches ie: Al-Zahrawi, Al-Khawarizmi, Al-Biruni, Ibn Sina, Al-Jazari (to name a few). Our ancestors were forced to live in dark ages for hundred of years even though the technologies were available.

I am not a "fundamentalist" but I wonder why anybody should start from your particular set of assumptions instead of their own? Let me guess, you are the first person ever to approach this topic with no bias whatsoever right? No? Well then maybe you should remove the log from your own eye, then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye. Sorry, couldn't resist that.

whether you're taking the story actually, you're no longer describing the story of the Ark as provided in the old testomony. you save throwing in "might desire to have's" which do no longer unavoidably save on with. The flood "might desire to have" coated Mt. Everest, the form of animal species "might desire to have" been extra advantageous than the account describes. there have been additionally extra advantageous than 2 of a few species, in straight forward terms 2 of others. we don't understand what area of the earth the flood coated, the way it affected different continents, or which animal species required saving. it truly isn't any longer sparkling how various the earth contained a human inhabitants at this component. i do no longer think of the account desires to be taken actually, yet you will possibly desire to start by skill of having the easily tale directly.

Their name says it all, fundamentalist. They believe everything that is in the bible and take it to heart. For them everything is absolutely truth and exactly how the bible says it is. For them to question it or even think is only figuratively is blasphemy.
