So far, the government has not drafted anybody, so how can you speculate on the procedures it will follow ?

I'm from the old school, I guess. At eighteen, we automatically registered with the selective service. Most of us by twenty two, if we didn't join the service of choice, were drafted into the army. It was just a way of life back then.
I don't remember anybody going off to the service kicking and screaming, it was just something you did !

It wasn't until the mid sixties that anti-war protests started popping up. We thought it deplorable for these people to protest against our government. Back then, the government could do no wrong, at least not to us lemmings. Not many of us bothered to find out who was right and who was wrong. We just followed the leader and questioned nothing.

Can you imagine Lyndon Johnson as your leader. How dumb was I ? I have gotten smarter with age, and I do believe that GWB isn't the brightest bulb in the box, but I also believe he is right about this war . So, I no longer follow blindly, nor do I believe everything that is said politically. What I believe more than anything, is that Islamic extremists are out to do us harm, and we must get them, before they get us !

Uh, there is no draft, but I think there should be a draft. I think that everyone living in this beautiful country should have to serve for at least a couple years. God bless our troops!

There WILL NOT BE a Draft, so there will not be anyone being sent to the draft unfairly and they
are already educated on what the draft is all about
when they register!!!

Im sorry to hear that collage students are living in fear of getting drafted. I hope you don't loose too much sleep every night. Don't worry, I'm sure that the goverment wont seperate you and your draft dodging frat buddies. Should they select people by how ugly they are instead of B days?

The draft is not needed right now, and you sound like an idiot, maybe you should be worried. But no the draft is needed only when the situation escalates. I work in Iraq, and it is not that bad. We have already won, and now the terrorists are attacking Iraqis. They don't want peace in Iraq, they want Islamofacism.

There won't be a draft because too many unpatriotic anti-americans live in the US and would protest it. I will be glad to go to Iraq.
