i feel guilty when i sign the yearbooks everybody can think of all these wonderful long things to write even when they barely know the person and all i can think of is the generic, "have a good summer : ) <3 you" and i do the same think for everybody so i might look like a schmuck and they might not think i care as much im worried.

u absolutely shouldn't feel guilty. how come when I do the same thing I never feel guilty, I actually feel proud of my self 'dunnu why". I write the same thing for all the people, no matter who they are, coz I believe that words can never describe what we want to say, and words are just pointless, I mean alot of times we say things that we dont really mean, we just say those words in order to say something. I alsooo think that u must feel guilty for the actions that u take toward ur friends, not toward the words that u write to them.
well that is what I think, and everybody has a different opinion

There are a couple of things you could do. First, don't take the yearbook thing so seriously. There are no Pulitzer prizes awarded for the cleverest yearbook signatures. And if you really want to do something different, you have a whole year to think about what to put in next year's yearbook, so put your thinking cap on and start taking notes.

Honey, at least you're honest and don't tell people what you think they might want to hear. There is absolutely nothing wrong with how you are signing the yearbooks.

You could think of a few personal things to add along with this, such as "enjoyed being in History class with you," and things like that. Or even something like "Hank, to a great guy, have a good summer, etc."

No, its not as if you dont care enough not to try to write something sweet or clever. Coming up with witty or heartwarming things to say is not ur thing, so wat? Just the fact that ur feeling guilty shows you feel badly and really do care. so i say, dont feel guilty. Except ur weaknesses and strive to strenthgen ur stengths. Im sure ur friends will luv you anyways, u seem like a nice person.

I have the same problem
So for this year just look at all your old yearbooks and get some ideas from there.

As long as it comes from the heart, it will always be beautiful to them. Besides, if you tried to come up with some long, poetic excerpt to write, you run the risk of coming off as fake or insincere. Its best to just write what you feel, and what you want for your friends. They'll understand if you're no poet, or reserved in your comments ^_^

The only people that you care about are the people you plan to stay in touch with after high school. No one else is important.

Try practicing at home some different things to say. If you just can't that's still o.k. you don't need to feel guilty for something you write from your heart.
