Should be banned........alongside picking your nose, spitting, and what ever other revolting bodily functions need to be done in the privacy of the washroom or somewhere.

How many times has someone emptied their nose into a handkerchief or tissue within earshot, especially when one is eating............aaaaaaaaaaarrrrgh!

Do you do private spankings?

No, it shouldn't be banned. If we'd stay home every time we had even minor sniffles, many of us would get into major trouble with the boss, many companies would have trouble finding enough employees to work especially in fall and winter... and you can't always get up and go to the restroom every time you have to blow your nose. I'm lucky enough not to have any allergies but a few colleagues do; they'd either have to take off work for two months in spring or spent half their day in the restroom (and probably get fired). Would you *truly* suggest they chose one of those?

I agree picking your nose or spitting isn't necessary, and blowing your nose can be done quietly too. I don't think it's necessary to sound like a horny elephant, just to clear your nose. Perhaps people could just try to be a bit less noisy about it, that would be nice.

It's better blowing your nose than being embarassed by a booger. If it was a big horrible noisy one I would rather leave the room to do it, but it took me years and years to work up the guts to give my nose a blow when I was dying with the cold and you can't go running out to the bathroom everytime you need to!

Picking your nose and spitting are completely unnecessary and disgusting.

As someone whose sinuses sometimes give him troubles, I think I'm going to have to go with the others who say that blowing one's nose in public is not a big deal. Yes, I am aware that it isn't exactly the most pleasant sound in the word. However, when you have a runny nose, you need to blow it. I go to a washroom when I can, but sometimes, I can't get to one. I am as discreet about it as I can be.

Now, as for picking noses and spitting, yes, those should never be done around other people.

no i don't agree. Most people have sinus problems and when their nose is running they have to blow it out. They can do it in a private place yes but what if they are on the road and they have a cold or something and there are no bathrooms or where ever near by what are they going to do?My friend guess again. What if that person was you? what would you do? Not eveyone stays the same way. Most people are different from you.

And the alternative is? If a person has a cold, they ~need~ to blow their nose, and can't always wait for privacy to do so.

I lived in Japan for 7 years, and trust me, you do NOT want to hear people snorking it back instead of blowing. It's even more disgusting than the nose blowing.

Nose picking is a totally different thing. There's no immediacy to that and there is no reason why anyone should have to do that in public.

Spitting is disgusting. And unnecessary.

Personally, I'm more peeved by people who do their make-up on public transit than I am by nose blowing.

i agree, blowing ones nose in public is not the best, i always feel selfconsious when icant get to a bathroom to blow my nose. But you know what, colds and allergies are a fact of life. Think of it this way, would you rather see people walking down the street with sont smushed over their faces because its rude to blow ur nose. A unpleasent as it is, it has to be done in order to spare pplz of a greater pain, dealing w/ ur snotty face. I do think spitting and nose picking is extremely rude though. lighten up, not like you never have to blow ur nose.

At the dinner table, it's rude and disgusting. People have to blow their nose--that's a fact, but unlike sneezing, you CAN control it. You should have plenty of time to excuse yourself into the other room to do it.

As for public--I don't really care if I see some guy walking through the grocery store or mall blowing his nose. I just keep a wide berth and try not to touch anything he has, lol.

Spitting is disgusting, and there's no need for it. Especially guys. My husband spits and I don't understand why. Everyone gets a little extra saliva in their mouth sometimes--what's wrong with swallowing it?? If you have a sinus infection and have phlegm/drainage I can understand not wanting to swallow that, but excuse yourself to the next room/a secluded area and spit it in a napkin or the toilet or something. YUCK!!!

Yeah, its pretty nasty, my uncle used to do this thing with the back of his throat and then spit in his handkerchief....I mean wth is that...I understand if someone has a little cold but in a restaurant, there is a bathroom. What totally floors me is when I'm driving and I look and some other driver is diggin for treasure, like they are invisible to others, lmao.

In the real world where people are not in perfect health their entire lives, the nose runs some times. The only solution would be to leave it running down your face and dripping on your clothes until an appropriate nose blowing location is available.

I totally agree. Blowing your nose should be done in private in the bathroom, along with other bodily functions!!
