What are the steps to Christ? How does one become a Christian?

The Bible says to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, then become Baptized and your sins will be forgiven. Also, pray, and take communion weekly. Thats : tithing or giving back to the Church, Breaking the Bread which represents the Body, and Drink the "blood" of Jesus for which He spilled for you. BTW its only grape juice....lol. But be a good person, read the Bible, and model Jesus...and those are pretty much the basics.

Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. The gospel or good news is believing what Christ died for us.
He was beaten for our transgressions (sins) and He went to the Cross of Calvary to be crucified to take away our sins and He arose the third day from the dead and walked around Jerusalem for another 40 days before ascending into heaven.
Christ was taken up in a cloud and seen going up by men who witnessed his ascension into heaven. All people were dead in their sins until Christ went to that Cross of Calvary for you and me. Christ was sinless and only a sinless sacrifice could take away the sins of the world.

Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved.
Get a NIV Bible and read it beginning in the New Testament with the Book of John and then read it from Genesis to Revelation.

We can't work for Salvation. Salvation is a free gift from God.
Call on the name of God and ask Jesus to come into your heart. Ask the Lord to forgive you of your sins as you forgive all people who have sinned against you. Ask Christ to write your name in the Lamb's Book of Life. And in Jesus' name you ask. Amen

Now believe that you are saved and start living for Christ Jesus. What Christ begins in us He is more than able to finish. He'll send the Holy Spirit to help purify and refine you.
People will eventually see an enormous change in you as the Holy Spirit teaches you all things of Christ Jesus and the Father God.

I would suggest looking into your heart and trying to find god. Listen hard and pray. Feel the wonder of the world. Do good deeds.

God has found you but you now need to let him in.

What does God say in His Word - on How a person becomes a Christian ?

Romans 3:23 - "For All have sinned and fall short of the glory [perfection] of God."

Romans 5:8 - "God demonstrates His love toward us in that while we were still sinners Jesus Christ died for us."

Romans 6:23 - "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus the Lord."

Romans 10:9-10 "That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."

Rom. 10:13 - "For everyone who call on the name of the Lord Jesus invoking Him as their Lord will be saved." -Amplified bible.

God I come to call upon the name of the Lord Jesus to be saved. I admit I am imperfect - I am a sinner. I believe that Jesus died for my sins, and You rose Him from the dead. I ask Jesus to forgive me of all my sins. I confess Jesus as Lord & ask Him to come into my life to be my Lord & Savior. I have received Jesus by Grace through faith & am Born Again - In Jesus name.

If you mean finding a church, pray about which church will help you to serve Christ best, and which worship style brings you closest to him. Everyone has their own "love language" so to speak and expresses their love for God differently. Explore some churches to find out which one matches your spiritual needs best.

4. I must accept His crucifixion as payment for my sins, personally. "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved" (Romans 10:13)

When you are saved, you are sealed with God's Holy Spirit for eternity. You cannot loose your salvation because you are now adopted into the family of God.
It is important to find a bible teaching church and become part of the body of Christ to help you grow in your walk with the Lord. Read the Bible daily.

You ask God into your life and ask Him to forgive your sins. Believe that Jesus died for your (and everyone's) sins and that with that act of sacrifice you have been washed clean.
