Leave her alone for a few days (exception being for changing water etc) so she can get used to her new home. Make sure she has treats as well and things to play with - perhaps a wheel? Gradually she'll get used to things and she'll try not 2 escape. Howevr, if she keeps tryin dont worry - hamsters like 2 do things like that 2 keep them entertained (happend 2 me quite few times). Just keep the cage secure and u wil b fine. btw is its a dwarf hamster u hav no wonder, since they are very fast hamsters and try 2 escape lots.!

I had the same problem...
Chances are she's not scared, but that she wants to roam free. Nothing you can do about it, she'll want to escape the rest of her life. Be sure to close all the doors to the room she's in while you're sleeping and while you're not home. This way you'll know what room she's in if she escapes.

If she doesn't have a running wheel, get her one. Hamsters NEED to run, and if they don't have a wheel they try to get out of the cage. It's not because they're scared.
If you mean she tries to get away from you when you are handling her, just keep on handling her. It shouldn't take too long for her to get used to you if you keep handling her, but if you don't, she won't get used to you.

she's not used to her new cage yet. it could take a couple of days to a couple of weeks, but probably not. it will get used to it eventually. Sometimes they try to escape even when they're used to their surroundings.

it takes that long to get used to new surroundings just talk to her sweet when you enter the room, and keep her door on the cage latched shut. and get her an exercise wheel to run in and a ball to run in outside the cage.
