ok if you have a shaded area that you can dump grass in after you mow do it. as time goes on between the moisture and the fact worms eat decomposing grass get on your knees and start digging through it there should be tons of them. in the mentime though the other methods work great. another method is finding an exsisting leaf pile near a river from flooding and dig through those.

another bonus of the grass trick is as you stir it up looking for the worms you are actually helping compost the grass which is great for flower beds and such. or you can just leave it and keep putting grass on top.that in turn helps the worms get even larger due to the richness of the soil and grass. be sure to water it once a week or so to help the prossess.

Ah, been doing this for the last few days.

Go out in EARLY morning, around sunrise. Look around not in thick grass, but the areas that the grass is thin, and you can see the ground. After a rain is the best.

Right now they are joined, or mating. You will see 2 joined together. Quietly walk up to them, and try to grab each one. They will partially be in their holes, so don't pull hard or they will break. Until you get the hang of it, concentrate on one, not both. Hold firmly without pulling too hard. After about 10-30 seconds, the worm will give up fighting, and slide easily out of the hole.

It takes practice, some mornings I lose or break at least half of them.

Some people go out at night, but I find that the light from the flashlight spooks them too quick, and I don't have a chance. I do the best waiting until the sun has just come up.

After a week with no rain, I only caught two, but on the night after a rain, we caught 3 dozen in a couple of minutes.

Good luck!

About 8:00 pm go out and water your yard. Spray it pretty good. Then after it gets dark - take a flashlight and walk softly, shining the light on the ground a few feet ahead of you. Then when you see the work laying out....sneak up and grab him. He will still be partly in his hole so you have to grab him right where his body is just out of the hole - then pull him gently out.

I agree with the others. Sometimes the critters are poisonous also. Another beardie owner found out the hard way that fireflies can kill. She lost her beardie in a painful way. Safer to buy your critters at pet stores and keep your beardie happy and healthy.

It's just as easy to go to Wal-Mart and get them for $2. 50 for a dozen.

run electricity through two poles into a damp, recently watered patch of ground. Don't be on the dampened ground when you do this.
worms will come to the surface, due to burn and irratation

well like most people wait for rain or water it yourself. also might wanna try a compost pile(banna peels, lettuce, corn cobs anything that can be broken down) for regular worms.
