that even though may seem a bit absurd for me, people who belief in that religion follow (not eating pork, not working a certain day, not eating during a time of the year) whereas christian people dont have to do a thing, their religion is all about opening their hearts and accept god (not really demanding, i can say that i do that) so why christians whose dogma is so weak and undemanding can criticize other religions that , at least, recquire a "sacrifice" from their followers/believers???

The problem with Islam is not the dietary rules, or the rules on dress.

The problem with Islam is that it gives Muslims permission to kill infidels, or convert them at gunpoint.

You don't have to be a Christian to see that there's something horribly wrong with that. And most people who oppose the spread of Islam are non-Christians.

Yes I really believe it is the one true
supreme being creator of all things that
is the same that both worship no doubt
there.
The reason I say this is because Islam is
pretty powerful with the way that it is structured.
Did you know a non believer could live a pretty good life if he would just live by the book of proverbs all of gods promises would apply to a non believer and he would
stay out of trouble, but his soul would still
be in trouble because he didn't accept gods
prophesied gift to the sins of the world that
apples to everyone.
You cant take Jesus out of the picture and
expect to be saved, or walk in the Almighty's
favor.
The conflict according to Islam faith is the
denial of the only gateway to heaven "Jesus"...

If we are to go back to the scriptures, there are many similarities in both. Both asks to worship One God Almighty, though later Christians took Jesus as God and some of them also took Mary the mother of Jesus Christ for worship. Basically it was very against teachings of Jesus and all other Prophets. Both asks modesty. Modesty in dress of women. Punishment for crimes etc. Today's Christianity mainly ended up in Chritmas celebrations and Pops. How many practices Christianity as it is. So now they want to say ' see' our woman are free and open and we are even discussing permitting gay marriage' and they just forget the past and say you Muslims want to hang on to the scriptures. True Christians never attacks Islam according to Holy Quran because they understand what is truth.

Christianity,Judaism, and Islam are all religions of one god,and must be respected as they are messages from god through his prophets. The criticism should be directed towards the people that misuse the religion, and do terrible things in the name of the religion.I am a Muslim, and i do disagree with some of the things that some Muslim radicals do in the name of Islam.

There are devout Christians AND Muslims who follow their "rules" and many who do not. Same goes for Islam, not every Muslim bows to Mecca on their carpet as often as they should. The days of Christians martyring themselves (standing up to the Romans, being fed to Lions, fighting in the Crusades) has long past. Whereas we turn on the television, seeing some crazy person blowing themselves up in the name of Islam. That gives Muslims a BAD name.

I am a christian who has a few Muslim friends. I really have nothing against them. It does seem that the cultures where Islam is the dominant religion are more prone to violence. And that their religious texts can lead a person on one of two paths - violence or peace. It depend on how you interpret the Koran. I think that violent people use this as an excuse to do evil things.

I believe that Islam in itself is OK. But it is easily manipulated and there tends to be more violent people associate with this religion.

What do you think?

you're really misinformed. we just believe in a close relationship with God. yes we have rules, just people tend to ignore them. there are non-committed muslims too you know.

and I don't attack Islam. I don't believe it's right, but I don't attack it. people just reacted when somebody went too far and made steretypes, and these people were mostly non-Christian or only christian by name. I'm sure you've heard some nasty things about Christians.

and btw, steretyping and judging makes you just as bad as those you claim are doing it. you've just come down to the level of that which you dislike

the sacrifice is our souls.

How do Christians attack Islam? Just like there are some secular Christians, there are secular Muslims. Not all of them follow those rules.

I don't think you understand Christianity because it's not just about opening our hearts and accepting God. We have 10 Commandments that we have to obey. When we disobey, we have to pray and ask for forgiveness.

There are some Christians who inflict physical pain on themselves as a price for their sin. Christians make many sacrificies for their faith. Christians have been persecuted and killed because of their faith and beliefs. I would certainly count that as a sacrifice.

In the Bible, Abraham offered his son as a sacrifice to God because he strongly believed in his faith. Job lost his fortune and his family. He even became a begging leper and yet he did not "curse God and die". They made sacrifices for their faith. Many Christians make sacrifices daily on behalf of their faith. I'm a Christian and I do not attack Muslims. America is generally a Christian country, yet allows Muslims to worship in freedom.

Why is it that some Muslims don't allow women in their mosques?

Christians hold that their religion is the only correct one. All others are false. In fact Islam does the same thing. So does Jude ism. How is it that Muslims can destroy statues of a tolerant faith in Afghanistan that were made centuries before Islam even existed. There is plenty of room for criticizing Islam without having to be christian or Jewish. How about female circumcision? Honor killings? Pretty barbaric stuff.

What a great point!

I respect Islam and its laws. Like Jesus said, "If ye love me keep my commandments." The Muslims love God by keeping his commandments. To me that is something very worthy of respect.

It is sad that many modern "teachers" of Christianity teach doctrines designed to appeal to people's fears and laziness. What they teach is not what Christ taught.

God bless failthful Muslims for being a light unto the world... and showing Christians how to love God with "all [the] heart, might, mind and strength."

As an atheist you likely concider all religions equally superstitious, or at least equally mired in falacy and sofistry. Christians like myself argue that there is a TRUE religion. There is ONE TRUE God. To worship the wrong god is not equal. I respect all men and their rights to choose their own path, but cannot submit to this New Age idea of all religions being equal. Religion is not for bettering the person. It is not for power or for wealth. Following God, the one true God, is an act of submittion and love, not for our benefit but for Gods glory.
