BAGHDAD -- Gunmen in police uniforms and driving vehicles used by security forces kidnapped five Britons from an Iraqi Finance Ministry office Tuesday, and a senior Iraqi official said the radical Shiite Mahdi Army militia was suspected.

Compounding the fresh evidence of chaos in Iraq, the U.S. military announced that a total of *10 American soldiers* were killed in roadside bombings and a helicopter crash on Memorial Day, making May _ at 117 fatalities _ the third deadliest month of the war. The war supporters say they are happy about the war. "We shall fight for at least 30 more years to get it right" a war supporter says.

Apparently, in our high tech world and billions of dollars military, the only way we can find out where the IEDs (Improvised Explosive Devices) are is to send out lightly armored humvees (better ones cost more and can't be built fast enough - hee civilians need humvees, too - it's not like we're at war or anything, hey) to get blown up, along with some of the brave soldiers in them.

The officers giving these orders are, of course, securely back in an office somewhere drinking coffee and drafting up more letters home to families of lost souls.

War is hell - this war is insane. We are neither winning or losing - the victory will only be judged by the world that exists (or not) a century from now.

were not losing. very few of our soldiers are killed by actuall gun fire. The majority of are casualties are friendly fire and ied's. ied's are improvised explosive devices. usually using a high explosive with items such as nails that makes good shrapnel to do as much damage as possible. They are disguised very easily adn are remotley detonated. butt the us army is taking measures to try to deter these bombs by placing scrmabling devices on armored hummers. This will help minimalize the casuallties.

Remember these soldiers are there to protect us as well.
keeping the terrorists in dismay is important its not a war for oil. and in war there will be losses.
for being in this for years the losses have been large and small at the same time.

when i say small that is in relativity to any other war america has ever fought or any war a country has ever fought has there ever been so few casuallties on one side
we lost over 200,000 troops in world war 2
and int he year we have been in this we have not even lost 3000 men.

In the end possibly 10 - 15 years down the line maybe some peace and order can be restored, but you can't expect a country after having its government overthrown to be up and running in a couple of years.

it has taken america nearly 300 years to be we are today

civil war is what is going on. there can be no victory if the u.s. stays long enough it could last thirty maybe 100 years. it will never end even if the U.S. leaves. another way to look at it is a steady loss to ambush and the like some would say this indicates a chance but i think even so there can be no victory. in war no one is truly the victor at first they think so but then find it is not so. no i that is not what was said it could last that long who has been altering statements here

you are able to desire to get severe with regard to the outcomes, as a replace of making plans for the way you are able to desire to gloat. base line - do you elect for to defeat the terrorists or no longer? this is truthfully no longer sparkling out of your question. Our media contained in the U. S. is likewise anti-conflict and at the same time, your undesirable alliance of the defective is bringing a pair of lifestyle this is making it impossible for the U. S. to unharness the entire potential of our protection stress. it somewhat is ill in case you're a US citizen and notice this as some sort of "guess" with some eating crow. God help you if the U. S. is attacked returned like on 9/11. in case you're fortunate, a number of contributors if the so called "dropping American troops" will save your cover.

Because people get killed in a war! Wake up, smell the roses, be thankful for what you have and thank all of those troops every day for it, those past and future as well.

It would be refreshing to see some integrity, but instead there is a news story posted and modified to fit a political agenda. It is truly pitiful and cowardly.

Here is the correct story.

It's called war. What they don't talk about is the bad guys captured, the weapons caches discovered, and the Iraqis enjoying their freedom and our presence.

If you have to ask why people die in wartime, you have an unrealistic concept of what war is.
