So often, we get caught up in a debate over political semantics and end up ignoring the hard-shell realities of what we're talking about. According to ImmigrationCounters.com , here are some of the realities that the Flake-Gutierrez Bill would airbrush out of the picture:
Number of Illegal Aliens in the Country
20,807,645
Money Wired toMexico City since January, 2006
13,001,672.00
Cost of Social Security Services for Illegal Aliens since 1996
$397,450,739,563.00
Number of Children of Illegal Aliens in Public Schools
3,958,789
Cost of Illegal Aliens in K-12 Since 1996:
$ 13, 965,063,431.00
Number of Illegal Aliens Incarcerated
332,594
Cost of Incarcerations Since 2001
$ 1,398,127,429.00
Number of Illegal Aliens Fugitives
642,799
Skilled Jobs Taken by Illegal Aliens
None
Figures can trick your eyes. Take particular note that items 2,3,5, and 7 reflect BILLIONS not millions of dollars -- and that item 3 exceeds one-third of a TRILLIONdollars.
Can you imagine how much it will cost taxpayers if we triple the number of Illegals entering this country!!

So, What's in a Billion?.......
The next time you hear a politician use the word"billion" in a casual manner, think about whether you want the "politicians" spending your tax money. A billion is a difficult number to comprehend, but one advertising agency did a good job of putting that figure into some perspective in one of its releases.
A. A billion seconds ago it was 1959.
B. A billion minutes ago Jesus was alive.
C. A billion hours ago our ancestors were living in the Stone Age.
D. A billion days ago no-one walked on the earth on two feet.
E. A billion dollars ago was only 8 hours and 20 minutes, at the rate our government is spending it.
While this thought is still fresh in our brain, let's take a look at New Orleans It's amazing what you can learn with some simple division . .
Louisiana Senator, Mary Landrieu (D), is presently asking the Congress for $250 BILLION to rebuild New Orleans. Interesting number, what does it mean?
a. Well, if you are one of 484,674 residents of New Orleans (every man, woman, child), you each get $516,528.00.
b. Or, if you have one of the 188,251 homes in New Orleans , your home gets $1,329,787.00.
c. Or, if you are a family of four, your family gets $2,066,012.00.
Washington, D.C. ... HELLO!!! ... Are all your calculators broken??
This is too true.........And these numbers don't lie.........and, it's not funny!!! lol

.........what?You make it seem like they come to the US and just decide to start fixing up run down areas as if all the cities in Mexico are travel hot spots. I think not. Urban development is the reason that run down ares are getting fixed up, contractors are using illegals to work to save money. I will say that Mexican immigrants are a hard working people. However in the state I live in which is GA illegals are filling up our jails reason being they have no identification, or drivers licenses so when they get pulled over violations that usually get you a ticket now with the help of illegals requires a trip to jail. I'm not against anyone coming to the US however do it the right way. My dad did it the right way

Legal mexican immigrants do seem to respect the fact they are Americans now and they are respected for their culture and in fact are imbarressed by illegals that are ,well trying to get a free ride off of all AMERICAN CITIZENS.Illegals are bad I dont care how you put it,they are a drain on our economy and our recourses. After all what possible positive effect could law breaking, poor, ingreats have? And while your enjoying your so called cheaper fruit remember you are paying for their free medical ect.Wow what a bargain, just hope you dont get ecoli or TB.Oh,and hope you dont get your Identity stolen,or your child raped or your son givin illegal drugs they bring across the border with them.READ,the statistics before you say Im wrong, you will be shocked about what the liberal media will tell you so they can get votes from these people, and YES,illegals can vote.Do some research.

In the areas around where I live that use to be considered the hood they have really been improved by the Mexican population that moved into these areas. The yards are well maintained, and the houses have been fixed up nicely, since most are in landscaping and construction they have actually brought up the value of these areas.

Are you talking about the 7 MONTHS of trash that they keep in their back yards? All because they don't want to fork over money to get the trash removed. Or what about living 20+ to one house and having the living conditions to the point of being dangerous?
What flowers? You mean the ones that they have dug up?

Actually, I passed through an area today where I was thinking the exact opposite. However, I know of some areas where that has happened. It seems to depend on how many people are using a house. I always assume the nice houses belong to those legally here. I don't really, know, of course.
Have you looked at what the huge overcrowding has done to the schools there, though?

I don't know where you live, but in Delaware, they seem to have run down the middle-class white areas. Lots of trash and empty beer cans on the road, unkempt lawns, mangy dogs, crowds standing around with bags of beer on the corners. But guess what, we both only commented on what we have seen, so neither is 100% accurate.

where have you been that illegals have done that? i have been in areas that have blacks that are nice and places where Mexicans live that are nice , but it is not the poor sections of town. it is more about poor, middle class, or rich. in areas where poor people live it is usually rundown, and crime ridden regardless of race. but that is just a generalization based my own travels with my job.
