There is starvation worldwide while others have more than they can spend in a lifetime... children are getting killed but since it's far away we pretend it's not happening... WHYYYYYYY?????????

People have been asking this question since the beginning. People's level of caring has not changed, and neither has their level of self-interest.
It's just human nature. This is not a new development and people are no less caring or self-centered than they were 1,000 years ago.
