I could probably resolve my tax problems with a quick easy phone call to a human being. So far all the numbers and web info they provide only leads to more computers and recordings :-(

HELP! I need human intervention!

Where did you get the idea that any human beings work at the IRS ???

Seriously, you can call the toll free number another respondent listed. It's a genuine hassle, but eventually you will get through to a human. Or, you can stop by the local office of the IRS.

It is possible, although not easy, to get through the menues at the IRS phone number and actually get a human being. But just going to one of their offices is easier, and probably quicker.

The only way to get a human being is stop by your local IRS office. Look in the white pages.

The people that work at the IRS are gov employees. They work only 2 hours per their 40 hour week. And thats just to drive to and from work.

Yes the Govt has made life difficult in a effort to cut costs, however you can write a letter asking to speak to a dispute officer and tell them it's urgent as you may have to move and you're not certain where or when so please get back to me so i can square things with the I.R.S,
If you like my answer please vote for me thanks.
