We are planning a trip to NYC in late July. What is the weather like? What should we plan on wearing? If we arrive early on Wed. and leave late on Saturday, how should we plan our time to get the best of the city? Is that enough time to do enough?

It will be hot and muggy. Wear light clothes and sandals most of the day. Don't bring any heavy clothes as you won't wear them.

Four days will be enough to hit the major attractions but nothing in depth. Still it should be enough to more than make you happy and want to come back for more (just at a better time of the year weather wise).

Be sure to get subway passes, check to see if a 5 day unlimited pass is a better deal then 4 one day ones (it might be). It's the best, cheapest and quickest way to get around the city.

It will be very hot and muggy so dress light but wear very sturdy sandals like Tevas or sneakers. There is so much to do here so make the most of your four days. I suggest going to the Seaport, Ellis Island, Central Park Zoo and Empire State Building. Also check into walking tours downtown for some history. As for museums, the Met and the American Museum of Natural History are my favorites. Check out the Rose Center/Hayden Planetarium, at the AMNH, if you have time.

One advantage to summer in NYC is it is less crowded on the weekends. Everyone leaves for the beach!

i could reccomend powerful Park definitely--take out a row boat or play frisbee or sunbathe or in basic terms walk around the park. additionally, i assume, the Empire State construction. like the stereotype approximately new yorkers, i've got by no ability been up there, yet everywhere the place you will get a view of the skyline is quite amazing (look whilst or in case you're flying in--there's no longer something like that skyline to allow you recognize you're living house). i assume the Brooklyn Bridge may be the ideal skyline view and you're able to be able to stroll for the era of it in case you prefer, yet i do no longer unavoidably reccomend that, yet once you like strolling, why no longer. additionally, definitely pass with the aid of cases sq.. in case you mandatory extra motivation I stay there and that's super, even nevertheless I in all probability do no longer pass previous 1 / 4 of what you ahould see. BTW, in case you're staying on the Carter, my cousins stayed there some years in the past and that i visited their room and it grew to become into extraordinarily disgusting--dirt interior the sink and stuuff like that. so heads up.

Our summers tend to be hot and very muggy (humid). There is NEVER enough time to see NYC ... and I live here! :) Think about the things you would like to do and prioritize from there.
