Your mac can use any kind of monitor, but it might need an adapter, depending on the type of Mac and the type of monitor. My new Mac Mini came with a DVI -> VGA adapter because the Mini only has a DVI out. And my iBook came with a VGA adapter also. Either way you'll be fine, but you might need to spend $20 extra to get an adapter.

You didn't say what type of monitor the HP is, so I'll assume it's a CRT Monitor with a VGA cable.

The Apple comes with a DVI to VGA adapter, so it should work just fine.

The computer you are buying comes with the DVI to VGA adaptor. You will not have any problems. I promise.
