They should all be taken indoors now. Set up a box with a towel and make sure the Mom cat has her litter box, food and water near by. The sooner you handle them he better. Do it now if the Mom Cat allows it. I starting handling mine the day they were born.

You may want to leave them there for a week or two. If you don't the mom might abandon them. The youngest I ever handle kittens is twelve days and only if they are in extreme danger. ( I own and operate a cattery.) My vet told me that at the age of three weeks the mom is not likely to abandon them. I would wait until then.

You can handle them at any age. The sooner you handle them (gentle, often) the tamer and more social they will be with people. After 7 weeks old it may be too late to socialize them. I'd move them inside asap to keep them safe as long as the mom won't abandon them.

well if you are going to touch them make sure you move them in the house because your cat will smell ur scent on them and may move them where u cant find them, if your cat really trusts u this may not be problem, i would say by the time their eyes are open and they begin to move around and play some would be the best time to start playing with them.

I held my cat a few hours after she was born. I don't see why you couldn't have picked them up sooner. The mom won't abandon them... make sure that you take her with when you move the babies. She still needs to supply them with milk.

12 weeks. i got mine at 5 weeks and he needed milk still and he was sick for a few weeks. we learned (unfortunately, afterwards.) that they need to be 12 weeks to be properly ready to leave the mother. 12 weeks minimum. if they don't seem ready then don't force them upon someone.
