It's your wedding, if you only want one of each then it will be fine. It only starts to look weird if you have an imbalance between the number or bridesmaids and groomsmen. But even then who cares if it looks weird its your wedding!

It's your wedding, so do what you want. I know someone who had 4 bridesmaids, and 2 groomsmen. It will look nice, especially for a medium to small wedding.

This is your wedding and your special day. I personally think it's wise to have as few people as possible. A wedding can still be very beautiful and elegant with only a couple of people in your wedding party. I've seen it done on a number of occasions and it always makes me jealous to think that I went thought all of the hassle of trying to include every friend I had in my wedding. Believe me, it's just more to worry about and more personality conflicts to deal with. I'm sure you have a lot of tact and that's all that matters, I think you should move forward with your plan. Good Luck!

As someone who is planning a wedding don't worry about how you think it will look. If you only want one then do it. Personally I don't think it looks bad and it saves you the stress of having to deal with more when it comes to finding dresses and such. But since you only have one that one might feel a little overwhelmed when it comes to planning your shower and bachelorette party if you have them. Same goes for the groomsman. And don't forget to get the grooms opinion.

I only had one of each and the pics and everything turned out great--some people don't have a whole gang of people in their wedding party---its nice to just have a small and very elegant wedding---people get too caught up in how many people are going to stand in their wedding---i saved my money on dresses and tuxes and went on a more expensive honeymoon--that's better than having a dozen people in your wedding i think___hope this helps and good luck!!

It won't look weird at all. Youre wedding is about what you and your fiance want not about how it will look to others. If they don;t like it they don't have to come right? Are you by chance in the new england area? My husband and i do wedding videography and photography in the new england states. If you would like some more information write to me at GWVideography@aol.com Good luck and congrats!!!

You should be the center of attention that day the less people at the altar the better. Good luck and I hope your wedding is the best

absolutely not, whoever you have stand up for you at your wedding should be who is MOST important to each of you.. We're each only having 1 person each stand up for us at ours, I'm having my best friend who is like a sis to me (I dont have any sisters) and my fiance is actually having his mother stand for him. (His father had just passed within the last year and we wanted to make sure his mother felt very important, special and needed-because she is!)
With that being said, we're not even calling them by the usual titles, they're each our "Best Person".

Just to show that you can do "whatever" makes you happy and/or reflects the both of you: in our case, this is a 2nd marriage for each of us. I have a 12 yr old daughter from my previous marriage and she totally adores my fiance, she actually wanted us to get married ON HER birthday! I wanted her to have a very important role in our wedding, but since she is to old to be flowergirl - she is actually going to be who I have walking me down the isle.
It's whatever makes you both happy.
Good luck and Congratulations!
