I don't find that quality on a personal level, but in books by jewish historians it definitely comes out, also I think Jewish tv commentators. In the singular,i don't find them arrogant, but in the plural, yes, definately - look at Israel. Those Jewish soldiers are just as arrogant as any SS guy in the occupied Ukraine. As to this Mark S I took a look at his answers and he's just incredibly rude, obnoxious and offensive. As far as his claim (above) that he only so responds when questions are "antisemitic" that would include anything other than flattering questions about Jews. Your question, for example. I don't think he's a very good exemplar of his people. He usually has the tone of a nazi commissar. In any event,Mark S certainly considers Jews above criticism. I don't,so i guess that's "anti-semitic". Actually the term doesn't even make sense anymore now that DNA tests have shown jews don't have any semitic blood.

I'm not sure which Jews you've been talking to but in my experience no they don't think they are above criticism. Jews historically have encouraged debate and are extremely critical of themselves and each other. Just look at Israel. One reason why the region can't get out of its deadlock is because whenever anyone comes to power with an idea of what to do, be it work for peace or wage war, they immediately slam into a vast wall of opposition from someone else. There's an old Jewish saying: "Where there are two Jews there are three opinions".
I find religious people from all walks of life can be very intolerant and arrogant about what they believe from Christians who smugly tell me they're "saved" to Muslims who curse "Unbelievers". Jews are like anyone else. They have their fanatics, their bigots, their liberals and their kind ones. Be careful of singling Jews out for special hatred. THey are no different to anyone else and if you DO single them out you end up helping to generate an environment in which they do feel embattled and then you are going to encounter the defensiveness you describe.

I'm not Jewish but many the questions (statements) I see here about Judaism and Jewish culture, are not just attacks on their religion they are attacks against a whole culture.
Most are disingenuous and deserve to be deleted. I have not had any questions about Judaism deleted but lots and lots about Christianity
Even your own question here shows your disdain, "who do these people think they are? Our masters?"
I also think you need to learn the history of the strife in the Gaza strip. Nothing is one sided and the rest of the region has a great deal to do with it. The rest of the Muslim world has not lifted a finger to help Palestinians.

The Muslims hate Jews because of the fact from the 1st day they refused Muhammad as a prophet and called him a liar. as a result he initiate conflict Bader with them. Banu Quraiza in no way did something against Muhammad. Their in ordinary terms fault exchange into that they have got been artisans, golds myths and prosperous Jews. Muhammad mandatory their wealth. and at the instant they instruct their childrens to call Jews human beings Pigs and canines.

Ah, yes. Well, since I'm being maligned--if you'll check my responses, the ones you take exception to are always aimed at those questions that are clearly anti-Semitic in content. These are not criticisms, just outright lies, slander, self-aggrandizement, puffery--call them what you want but they have no place in this forum. If you can't even figure that out, then you need to grow up.
[edit]
. Obviously *I* don't delete the questions, Yahoo does, so your issues should be with them. I would be as direct in my response to one of my faith who said that homosexuals are abhorrent as I would those of other faiths--probably more so, because it reflects badly on my religion. And, if you take the time to correlate my responses with the questions you will, in fact, see that there is a direct relationship between my bluntness and the clear intent of the original question.

I see plenty of people with attitudes or beliefs that they believe above criticism on here - Jews, Christians, Muslims, Racists, atheists, Bush supporters, Bush haters ....blah blah blah!
Too many people seem to forget this is meant to be an 'answers' sight not a soapbox.

excuse me but can you give me one example of
"Every time anyone poses a question that has to do with anything they regard as reflecting unfavorably on them, they demand it be deleted"
I would really like to see a link to one.
If you cannot it sounds like your just spreading malicious slander.

First I have no control over that individual (and he is not my buddy) secondly dont you think its a, bit, just a tiny bit bigoted to make gross generalizations about a group of people?
If your question replaced with the word Blacks instead of Jews dont you think that might be considered racist?
Just a thought... oh and have a nice day =)

The only "vitriolic" answers from Jews are to those questions that are demeaning or bigoted or incendiary. Please do not act like you have never seen one of those. And I am proud to say that I am also one of those people who report those who do this. I simply do not believe you. Can you prove to me that this is true? And please do not use Mark S -- his responses to bigotry and bile against Jews is necessary from my point of view. Oh, please, tell me you are not Christian. I really want to believe that not every Christian feels as you do.
Oh, I have to add that Jurgen is one of those people who ask the bigoted and incendiary kinds of questions. My advice is to check out each one's profile and see for yourself.
