There is no one cause for kidney stones. First off, there are several different kinds. There are genetic, dietary, lifestyle, metabolic, and even climate factors that can effect the creation of these stones. One thing that contributes to all of their formations is the dilution of the urine, which means one must drink a lot of water.

Being that your stones are calcium (I'm assuming they are not struvite). You will want to talk to your doctor about limiting your calcium intake. There are also medications that can alter the pH of your urine to increase the solubility of the calcium.

You do not say what age you age? Like are you taking calcium for Osteoporosis? You may want to check out the lithotripsey machine, which breaks up the stone using sound waves.
