Reason being, I believe at first THE CREATOR didnt have a name to be held by! It was a human who gave that name. So if that human gave that name...he/she can also give any other that name. It's like they limit his/her name to God when it its much more than just that! The Almighty or Creator is a name that no one can get.

It has been said that the Lord has a name we cannot say. In Hebrew, He is referred to as Jehovah, Elohim, Jehovah Jireh, and more. Each name represents a character trait of God.
Yes, God is His title/function. In the Greek, He is referred to as "the God", as in the first paragraph of John 1 where it says "the Word was God".
To call Him God makes a statement that He is the only One true God and is over all other gods. He can be called Master, Creator, Lord, Almighty and other names or titles we see in scripture.
And yes, I said, "He". This is not because He has gender as we know it in our plain, especially since one of His names means, "breasted one". But, it is an establishment of the patriarchal order He set for mankind. I know feminists don't like this, but God set the order.

Sounds good to me. I think the entity that is responsible for us being on this planet does not even remotely resemble the popular concept of God.

I use the terms interchangably. He is first and foremost my Creator but he is also my leader and guide..i.e. God, Lord, Father.
