Every Muslim having excess wealth as per its terms should give approx.~ 2.5% as charity to the poor. It is one of five pillars of Islam. If every rich were to practice this system, there would be nothing named 'poverty' in this world. We are asked to protect nature, agriculture etc. and not to harm anything in nature that eventually harms mankind. Overpopulation cannot be counted a probelm. It is Allah who sustains. We all know food is produced in abundance nowadays than it was in previous. Just in fear of poverty, family planning is wrong. War was not permitted in Islam for its first 13 years. Then God gave permission for war in order to resist if others waged war against Muslims. This ofcorse have basic rulings. Killing of any innocnet equals killing the whole humanity and saving a soal equals saving whole humanity.

To poverty: Muslims are required to pay a certain amount of money every year akin to a tax. This money is taken and given to the needy. There are other methods, but this one is the major one.
Environmental Degradation: Muslims cannot damage the environment even in the time of war, so they certainly can't do it in times of peace. Any one that does needs to reevaluate his faith.
Overpopulation: If one were in an Islamic state, the amount of illegitimate children would be almost non-existent. This in some ways helps control population. There are others, but I can't think of them off the top of my head.
War: Muslims, theoretically speaking, should be very tolerant when it comes to many things. War is a last resort as well it should be. Articles defined in an Islamic state would only grant war as a last resort. Again, if we look at it from Islam, war rarely occurs. At the time of the messenger, it took torture for several years before the Muslims fought back, not declared war, but defended itself. So Islam rarely allows war.
*This is all assuming that Islam is being practiced.

i want to tell you that what you are talking about it's not just a little thing in Islam...it's actually one of the 5 basics of the Islam(should be fulfilled to be a true Muslim)..
it's called zakat....it's an obligation to take a limited amount of every adult Muslim every year to give it to the poor...and it increases by the increase of ones income...Islamic banks do this also to the Muslims' accounts

about war,it's enough to say it's called Islam,the religion of peace...and Islam insists on mentioning that wars with no reason(like occupation or defending myself or my country)
and the prophet's hadith also:who kill someone as if the whole humanity.....

if we follow those things and the whole system...we can find responses to any any problem in this life

so...there is no magic solution...it needs studying thinking and cooperation
as the illness...if you are in it you will go to the doctor and you will take medicine
Doctor can't say you won't be sick....but he will give you a system ..if you follow it your health Will still good

No, they can not nor can any other religion. People and ignorance created these issue and it is up to people and education to stop the issues.
