I was told by the manager at PETSMART not to use vinegar to clean my carpet after my puppy wets and area. They told me this will encourage the puppy to use the same area to repeat urination and dumps. They said that vinegar does not break down urea? Is that true?
Can you recommend a carpet cleaner that can help erase the scent trail of urine and massive dumps?

Natures Miracle is great for removing enzymes from the carpet from pet urine and vomit. I usually keep a big jug if it around because my pets seem to like to puke up stuff AFTER I've left for work and then there's just a spot nice and soaked in when i get home. The advantage to this product is that the pet won't return to the same spot to urinate (which is maybe the puppy's problem, he's attracted to his own scent). I think it removes stains as well, but white carpet can be a problem. Maybe consult your local dry cleaner to see what they recommend. You can use Natures Miracle in carpet cleaning machines as well to remove the old musty odors from the whole carpet (maybe will work on the dark carpet). If the cats are not making it to the litter box it may be a medical condition due to age or infection. A trip to the vet may be in order, unless you like removing pee stains all the time. But this product may help straighten out the housebreaking problem. I also found Oxyclean Pet Stain remover works well for small stains.

There's a product called "See Spot Go" that works fantastic. All you do is spray it on the stain/wet spot. No scrubbing. No rinsing. No more odor or stain. Besides pet stains, it works great on children's stains, as well - including vomit. If you can't find it at your local pet supply store, do an internet search. A can should cost less than $8 and lasts a long time.

I personally suggest pettastic or natures miracle. Both sold at local pet stores. I used it when I was house training my puppy and I loved it. Not only does it completly get rid of the pee odor it also leaves no lasting odor. They are the same product just renamed. petsmart sells it as natures miracle.

They sell stuff called PetZyme at most pet stores that breaks down animal stains and has even taken out grape juice on my carpet. It neutralizes the odors related to pet accidents too, it is very useful and inexpensive usually.
