So the other day some Jehovah's Witnesses came to my door and of course gave me some little booklets and I was nice because they didn't directly preach to me. (by the way I'm not Christian) And I brought in the little booklet and my little brother picked it up (he's mega-Christian and 13) and started yelling, "They're so stupid! There entire religion contradicts itself!"

Is it just me or was really ironic?

It seems important to mention that Jehovah's Witnesses are Christians, and consider the bible to the only inspired and infallible means of learning the will and purposes of God.

Jehovah's Witness ministers are happy to use any bible which a householder may prefer to show what the bible really teaches. Sadly, much of Christendom's traditions are easily exposed as unscriptural.

I'm guessing your brother is younger than you. You realize it is a younger brother's job to annoy you... He is probably just repeating what he has been told regarding Jehovah's Witnesses, which is very unfortunate. Also, remember, just because someone "says" they are Christian doesn't mean they truly are. Christianity isn't like a nationality, people aren't born a Christian, they have to become one, it is a chosen way of life. If they don't live up to the name in both word and deed then...are they really Christians?

Well, let's not expect too much from a thirteen year-old. Indeed anyone who professes to belong to a particular faith needs to respect the faith of others, even if the differences are significant. Otherwise, the ugly face of bigotry is again displaying itself and making things unnecessarily uncomfortable for certain presidential candidates as well as for your everyday citizen.

Why not ask your brother what need his faith is meeting in him?
I don't see anything that was done to cause your comment. Has someone of either the Christian or other people who came to your door offended you somehow?
