I got teased alot when I was a kid. Im going to be 27, I am insecure about my looks at times, but confident. Sometimes young girls will give me looks, like im some pervert when there is no reason for them to act that way.....I don't do anything wrong. I wanted time to myself on my day off, so I hit the beach and I looked at a guy and he said "What?!", so I said "What?!" back and gave him an attitude.....then he stood there waiting to fight while I stood there and told him to relax.

Now first of all, this guy was Hispanic. Im white....and lots of Hispanic people give me looks sometimes. Can I ask why it's ok for them to stand their ground but if it's me im out of line and need to calm down?

Ahaunted.......how does it make me look bad? Different strokes from different folks, we all have our stories and some feel entitled to stand their ground if they're being challenged, I don't get whay that comes off as bad.......

Don't be so insecure. Honestly, work at it. If you feel insecure others around you can probably pick up that vibe. It makes you look bad.

If someone is willing to fight you simply because you looked at them are probably not secure themselves.

Yes, it is Ok for someone to call you on it. If you don't like it when ppl stare at you then don't stare at other ppl. Why do you think they would like it if you don't? Also don't get into a situation where you are going to be confronted and "asked" to fight when you don't want to. It doesn't sound like ppl thought you were out of line and needed to calm down, it sounds like you were rude, got called on it and backed down.

He may have thought you were interested in him. You may be projecting your insecurities into other people's actions. You do not know what others think. The people looking at you may see you as an attractive woman, not as something negative.
