Yes, and it is legal to make moonshine as well. As long as you don't sell it you'll be fine. When you start making money off of it, that's when you run into trouble. Moonshine is very dangerous stuff. If you don't know what you are doing you could burn your home down, or even blind.

I don't see why not. All it is, is a collection of containers, piping and a fire. Separately each one of those is legal, put together in a particular manner should be legal also.
Now using that contraption to make moonshine may be illegal.

I assume you mean corn whisky, since "moonshine" literally means illegal booze. I've tried several, here's my opinion of them: JW Corn = my favorite, for what it's worth. You can buy this just about anywhere. Virginia Lightning = decent, but hard to find outside Virginia. Catdaddy = Not really straight corn whisky and very unusual. Good enough. Midnight Moon = Unpleasant Georgia Moon = Awful and easy to find

Selling liquer without paying the tax is a crime not making for your own consumption. It's legal to do in most states but you have to know what you're doing or you could poison yourself.
